How Artsby makes money.

Short version: affiliate links. If you buy something through one, the seller pays us a percentage. You pay the same price either way.

What that means in practice

• Many product links on this site are affiliate links, marked in context.
• The commission comes out of the seller's margin, not your pocket. The price is identical whether you use our link or type the address yourself.
• Commission rates vary a lot between sellers — from about 3% to 25% of the sale. We'll tell you when a product we recommend pays us nothing, and when one we've advised against pays well.
• We can't see who bought what. Reporting comes to us as totals, not names.

What it doesn't change

Ratings, rankings and criticism. If the best option pays us the least, it still goes first, and we'll note the awkwardness rather than hide it.

Your consumer rights

Buying through an affiliate link doesn't affect your rights with the seller. Returns, refunds and warranties are between you and them, under whichever law applies to that purchase. Australian buyers keep their rights under the Australian Consumer Law for purchases from Australian sellers.
